Important software and hardware recommendations
Because many people have pre-existing equipment, we have priced our Point of Sale, cash register, and computer equipment separately.
To avoid using your cash register for office work such as inventory updates, purchase orders, etc. we strongly recommend an office system in addition to your cash register.
We require all primary computers to have Microsoft® Office Professional and antivirus software. All other computers need Microsoft® Office Standard or Basic and antivirus software installed. The cost of these is not included with RB Control Systems Point of Sale software because many companies already have corporate editions. You can purchase Microsoft Office and antivirus software from us or from your preferred business software vendor.
We highly recommend that all computers use a battery back up for protection against power surges and outages.
Purchase customized customer loyalty cards and keytags in lots of 1,000. Customized gift cards can be purchased with your logo in lots of 500 or in any quantity with our standard design.
Our program allows you to print barcode labels directly to your laser printer on label sheets. If you want to print one label at a time, we recommend a Barcode Printer.
If you purchase computers from us, we strongly recommend the extended warranty. It provides an additional two years of on-site service, parts and labor.
We recommend using a dot matrix printer for your service call slips so that you can print them in duplicate or triplicate. A laser printer is recommended instead of an ink jet for printing customer handouts. Use a laminator for long lasting customer handouts like maintenence calendars. All reports and printouts are in color, so color printers are best.
Credit Card processing software is recommended for all computers that process credit cards. You will also need a magnetic strip reader.
QuickBooks® accounting software can be purchased locally if you choose to interface with this accounting program.
MS MapPoint® is necessary for each computer that will access the map routing features.

- Receipt Printer: Serial or USB connection
- Cash Drawer: Must connect to the receipt printer
- Pole Display: Epson emulated compatible and Serial port or USP to a redirected comport
